If their concern is protecting America, they should push for a military role in defending the US border, and perhaps cross border attacks on armed cartel militants.

They do have a priority for strengthening the military

They don't need to strengthen the damn military, they just need to use it to protect Americans instead of every other population on the planet. I mention this because I don't want tax increases for military spending.
