Yea, that doesn't happen for me. Maybe it is the browser?

I flush my cache when I close my browsers.

If you right click > inspect, then click on storage > cookies > poal.co, the setting appears to be stored in cookies.

Ah, Poal is one of those sites...fun.

Me too. I use Iridium and it clears out everything when I close it.
