For a few reasons

  • I would like to start paying my own cell phone bill
  • I waste too much time on my current phone, Galaxy S4. Less features --> wasting less time
  • Harder for ((them)) to track my location

Downsides:

  • No GPS app for when I need to drive somewhere new
  • Not sure if there are other downsides

Flip phone is where it's at, don't be afraid. Get yourself a map and learn to use it. Every so often I go on a smart phone break and rock the flip phone for a year. I highly recommend it. Matter of fact ive been thinking about doing it again myself soon.

I miss my lg envy. Still have it, should start using it again. Been thinking of giving up my smart phone for a while and the maps part is what makes me hesitate. Also been wanting to stop by triple A and get actual maps. For everyone in my family. Fuck it. Getting maps tomorrow damn it!

Burner phones are mostly smart phones these days. And they suck ass. The flip phones breaks super easy. Source had flip phones for years.

Instead of flip type phone, go for old school Nokia type if you are not texting much. They last longer and no moving parts to break.

But about your reasons - you can be tracked as long as you are connected to any cell tower. No app or internet required. Just FYI.

If you don't need the extra functions then do it. It doesn't even have to be a flip phone either.

Texting is the biggest downside IMO.
