It’s a status thing, in my experience the culture they have is obssesed with status symbols, piece of shit car not worth 500$ with 3000$ worth of rims and tires, makes no sense unless it’s about appearance. The higher you are in the dominance hierarchy the more and better status symbols you must have in order to advertise your place. At least that’s what it is as far as I can tell.

Same is true of clothes and jewelry in general ... as a generalization. As a male who wears casual wear at best - LOL - I never understood it myself.
