more because it easy to use, comes with everything for the most part

Fair enough, those are pretty much the exact same reasons I had.

Either way, I found Ubuntu to be a bit annoying and strange with its macintosh-like "dock" system... if you feel the same way, then Linux mint is probably better for you because it is set up almost exactly like windows7, with a proper "start menu".

Either way, have fun with your new operating system!

i didnt like unbuntu either has a lot of bloat imo, my dad liked it tho. He was just on the internet with his machine i built him tho.just told him the update whatever commands never had a problem for years

That's one thing I like about Linux in general, that you can just let the updates handle themselves without worrying about any bullshit being thrown in. Anything remotely fishy, and guaranteed some wizard (I'm the sense that they've achieved technical mastery) has already found the problem and kicked up a stink about it long before it has had a chance to reach the casual user.

Ubuntu had a lot of bloat, but the deal breaker for me 2as installing something, and then not being able to find it later. Mint's start menu has everything you need, and if you can't find it, you just scroll through the relevant sub-menu, and you'll find what you were looking for.
