So we shouldn't even provide moral and rhetorical support of the variety we did to the dissidents in the USSR in the '80s? The protesters don't wave our flags because of our economy, they wave them because they're symbols of *freedom*. That is something we should encourage, not go "oh, but we're awful, too." The US ain't perfect, but we don't harvest organs of political prisoners or starve peasants for ideological reasons.
