I've noticed that all the supposedly "great" painters and sculptors who are living are hype artists. This doesn't apply to the dead artists, but to artists auch as Andy Warhol, Picasso, Dali, Henry Moore, who made themselves famous during their lifetimes. The same can be said about architects, and even fiction writers. Many of the most famous have more of a gift for self-promotion than they ever had for art.
