There is a vast difference between modern art and the business of art. They are two entirely different subjects. There is of course a great deal of shit modern art, just as there is shit modern music. There is also good modern abstract art. Most people don't actually care, because why should they. It isn't a subject that has much impact in their lives. They don't give it much thought. Good modern abstract art does exist though.
