Those who push such things don't give a hoot that their actions will do absolutely nothing to stem violence. They are purely emotionally driven and frightened by inanimate objects. The sad part is, they don't ever seem to realize that by setting such precedents, some day something they themselves hold dear will be the target of the same faux outrage.
