I did read a story awhile back, were a woman turned in a historical firearm at one of those "gun buy back" programs. The cops made sure it was not destroyed. So at least some cops are on the same page.

I remember that one. Places like Detroit though have zero tolerance, so it'll go into a melting pot. A real bummer, and think of the money they throw away doing such things. It's better to waste taxpayers dollars I guess.
