Yeah, that's about what I figured. There's no historic value in a single example and I can't really think of a reason to own one - except as a novelty piece.

I just can't talk myself into wanting one. The only thing that interests me, at the moment, is another Ruger. I don't have a Mk. IV.

I know, it's silly - but I really like the Ruger Standard models and I have I, II, and III. It stands to reason that I should have a Mk. IV - but I haven't gotten the gumption to check and see if they have a target model IV.

I have a standard ... fun toy ... had one of the originals way back in the day and had to have another. A few years back when I was in a buying mood, I picked it up. Fun plinkers.

Huh! I don't actually meet many fans in the wild!

Their target models are fantastic - I think. And, it's .22LR. You can plink all day for a few bucks - and it's a .22LR. You can kill someone with it, but you'd probably have to work at it.

I enjoy them ... mine being a Mk III Standard ... I had to look it up on my gun inventory database, I forgot which 'precise' model I bought. I just think the standard's are so 'cool', but probably because I'm an old guy and am fascinated by things from my youth - LOL.

Yes, the bull barrel target guys with the tricked out sights are much better. But I just like to make noise, and to me they're just heavy and ugly in comparison. The newer fluted barrel ones and all the plastics compensate ... but I'll still take a good old fashion Standard any day. It's kinda what made Ruger ... Ruger.
