If I already have a 1911, is there any reason for me to want one?
I've seen people mentioning these, and read a couple of articles. I respect your opinion and am curious if you can think of any justification to buy another 1911. I'm am glad they're making their way into private hands, but I can't actually think of a reason to own one.
Unless you collect and want a military issue version, I see no advantage. Even then, they aren't likely to be seriously high grade, though I could be wrong on that. It sounds like they're selling the best at auction rather than under this program. I basically just posted for those interested. Me, not so much.
Yeah, that's about what I figured. There's no historic value in a single example and I can't really think of a reason to own one - except as a novelty piece.
I just can't talk myself into wanting one. The only thing that interests me, at the moment, is another Ruger. I don't have a Mk. IV.
I know, it's silly - but I really like the Ruger Standard models and I have I, II, and III. It stands to reason that I should have a Mk. IV - but I haven't gotten the gumption to check and see if they have a target model IV.
I have a standard ... fun toy ... had one of the originals way back in the day and had to have another. A few years back when I was in a buying mood, I picked it up. Fun plinkers.
