>A rare, nearly complete skull of an ancient amphibian has been unearthed in North Central Texas. The discovery was made by Andre LuJan, a professional paleontologist from Dallas and director of the Texas Through Time Fossil Museum in Hillsboro.
LuJan found the fossil at the Permian Quarry in Archer County after heavy rains helped expose the remains. The specimen belongs to Eryops megacephalus, a large-headed semi-aquatic predator that lived over 280 million years ago during the Permian period.
