I would never tell anyone I found gold coins on my property. That could cause the criminal government to pay me a visit and my coins could get arrested, simply for existing.

Mums the word.

That could be Knights of the Golden Circle stash. Jesse James and IIIRC the Youngers were involved with them. It is rumored they robbed northern banks, stashed the loot in mason jars or cans until such time there would be enough monies raised to start a second rising of the south.

Bob Brewer wrote two books about it, “Rebel Gold” & “Shadow of the Sentinel”. Both very interesting reads if you’re interested in out of the (((norm))) CW history. “Quantrell of Missouri” by Paul R Peterson is another one that touches the subject. Both authors have found gold coins based off “sign” much like that of Spaniards and illuminate type mapping found in the woods of the south including Arizona where Southern Generals went into Mexico under the service of Maximilian who paid them in gold. That gold is supposedly in the Superstition Mtns still today.

I wondered about that. I know one of the KGC stashes was found, but it's widely known there were more still lost.

It’s interesting (as I understand) that the monies the James and Younger gangs stole was never recovered and they never lived lavishly off of it. Brewer and Peterson present some pretty compelling evidence in their books. Peterson makes claim that his grandfather was one of the Sentinels guarding the stashes in Missouri, but didn’t figure that out until later in life, hence his book.

That whole Border Wars part of the CW is very interesting. The history written of it has a lot of (((yankee))) stink on it as per usual.

Ever see Ride With The Devil?
