Something doesn't add up to me.... how does primative ochre paint applied to rock faces that are exposed to the severe weathering forces inherent in a rainforest environment remain clearly legible after almost 12000 years. Even if that rock weathered by only 1mm per century, it would have lost almost half an inch, destroying all of the art work. These art works are clearly in open areas subject to weathering a can be seen by the clear water erosion lines on the rock face. By the looks of it, the whole face would run with water under (frequent) heavy rain, with small trickles being semi-permanent.

I'd be very suspect of the authenticity of this find. Maybe some enterprising locals decided they could make a shit ton of money from gullible Western tourists.
