According to the story they migrated first to the Iberian peninsula from Egypt and built a tower there where they could see Scotland and then went there. There might be some fanciful embelishment since I don't think Scotland is visible from there but that's the story.

There may be some other interpretations too so it's probably something that is worth researching yourself as you may make different conclusions to the scholars that interpret these.
