I'll see your appreciation for A/C and raise it to full appreciation for central HVAC. It's good to have good cooling in the hot months and reliable heating in the cold ones. Which reminds me...it's time to replace my filters.

I'm thinking a bunch of us need to host families from Europe to come stay at our houses during the hottest months, and let them enjoy AC so much that when they go back home, they will feel that they can no longer live without it.

lol That's what's happening here, when Brits are visiting, they complain it's too cold in shopping malls, restaurants and indoor public spaces, but later on realize how good it is in summer (from April to November).

It's funny cause I remember not having it as a child and was going to go that route this year due to monetary concerns. But Thursday morning I snuck into the attic, brought down a window unit and installed it without walking the wife and kids. Mostly for them, but it is nice to have a cool house after working outside all day.
