I had to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to drive my wife to the airport. It is really nice to drive on roads when there is no traffic. Also, it is quiet everywhere and the peace is very nice. I can get a bunch of work done without being interrupted every few minutes and anyone else I happen to see is in the same state of mind: quietly enjoying the quiet and not wanting to speak in order to keep the quiet going as long as possible before it is ruined.

The older I get, the more I appreciate peaceful quiet mornings.

... waking up and not seeing my name in the obits.

I'm also looking forward to going to sleep early tonight, and getting to do it again tomorrow because I will probably wake up at the same time again.

Indeed. I rise at 4:00 everyday. Hit the comparatively uncluttered and open road, iron and office before the masses are active.

It feels like I got a days worth of work done in a couple of hours.

It's a great habit. I rise early on the weekends, too and hit the wooded hills with a hunting pack or ruck to kick the day into gear.

It feels like using a cheat code for life.

I run at 4:45. Its very peaceful. Just me and the dozens of rabbits I spook.

Plus you are acting as a neighborhood watch.
