Tom Scott's YT videos apparently have excellent subtitles (color-coded for each speaker, proper spelling, grammar and punctuation, and annotations for sound effects) Fansub animes also usually have great subtitles (but can also be horrendous)

Color coded! Don't get me started. I hate the fucking color coding. Luckily for me, the device I play my downloaded movies on is so old, it can't pick up the color coding, so I usually don't have to look at it.

I appreciate you. Simple as.

Ha! Did you watch any of the McSwamp votes? The subtitles were horrendous. Done by a 12 year old chinese kid. Weirdly they were also slightly ahead of the speaker on the live broadcast.

Subbies are hit or miss. What is most annoying is when the person making them decides to paraphrase the dialogue. So many of them are out of synch, which is also annoying. Isn't there some coding mechanism that would keep the subs in synch no matter which version of the video they are applied to? There should be.

Yeah, it's kind of annoying when it's obvious that English isn't the primary language of the person responsible for the subtitles of the show I'm watching...
