There is a menu under the video where the video transcript can be opened.
It also allows seeing the manually added subtitles, if available.
But thanks to YouTube's automatic voice-to-text captions that can be read in the transcript, one can search for text of what's said in the video using the page text search feature of the browser (Ctrl+F).
Although not 100% accurate, it has been helpful to me repeatedly.
