Eh, I think getting out of the tech race is the best bet. You get so dependent on such an absurdly complicated device that's almost always spying on you and can be cut off at any time.
I switched to a Nokia 105 dumbphone and am really happy I did. I just use my laptop if i I need to get something done. Also have a Garmin eTrex GPS, maps, amateur radio, etc.
