No plug-in installation required. On mobile phones from 10 years ago, that did not support Adobe Flash, you probably needed to install a separate app for every video platform. Now you can immediately access them. Thank HTML5 for that. Of course, installed apps can be more sophisticated (e.g. offline functionality, caching for data saving, client-side user interface, etc.), but HTML5 is the reason you don't need to bother installing a truckload of different plug-ins (QuickTime, Silverlight, Adobe Flash, etc.) to cover all the websites you use.
