I am not old enough to have first-hand-experienced the age/epoch of pre-USB mobile phones, but I have heard stories about the times (early 2000s), where mobile phones had their own unique proprietary charging connector, and sometimes even changed per generation!

Since ~2009 however, most non-Apple devices have USB-B Micro? a unified charging connector for all mobile phones and accessories!

And in the mid-2010s, the manufacturers upgraded to USB-C, a connector with higher maximum currents and reversibile plug design.

Thanks to UniversalSerialBus, there is a spare charger or spare cable everywhere.

And the same ports can be used for power, data storage and all sorts of accessories.

Thanks, USB, for making our lives easier.

I will not take USB for granted.
