I've got the same set in 1970s green packed away somewhere in storage ... along with my grandparents salt and pepper shaker collection dating back to around 1910 (unless they also had my great grandparent's shakers in that assortment too which would go back to ~1880. Here's a set I have in a glass cabinet in my kitchen - couple of the oldest ones (pic8.co), I think. Top picture (pic8.co), bottom picture. (pic8.co)

For something your grandmother probably paid $0.35 at the discount store for...that's a decent appreciation.

My grandmother had them on her dining room table up until the early 1970s when she was too old to be on her own and moved into assisted living.

I know she had no idea of the symbolism they entail, I didn't either until about 5 years ago.

Stuff never got tossed when I was a kid, my folks were depression era kids.
