the more anon you get the more the fee to buy bitcoin with usd will be.
There's localbitcoins- meet people in real life There's bitcoin ATM- some atms do ask for Id but some work just like a vending machine-not best conversion rates but best annonymity. Coinbase- no anonymity- but easy and low fees
here are some starter links to bitcoin info and personally I would like to use monero https://www.bitcoin.com/ https://www.monero.how/why-monero-vs-bitcoin https://www.getmonero.org/
For monero hardware wallets-ledger and trezor are currently basically the only hardware wallets compatible with both bitcoin and monero and have best security so you don't keep your funds on some online 3rd party account.
Added a monero wallet
I have no real crypto now, but coinbase rapes you.it reminds me of buying/selling gold: You get fucked hard on both sides of the transaction.
Use pro.coinbase.com instead of www.coinbase.com, two websites with different fees, both are the same company and your account works on both. It is how they charge newbs more, market segmentation.
Tip: swap all your coins to Nano before cashing out- it has the lowest rates.
And the gold market is flooded with Fiat gold to keep the price artificially low
Localbitcoins dropped cash in person a couple years ago
Localbitcoins stopped doing cash in person a couple years ago.
Paxful seems to welcome scammers.
Agoradesk. XMR and BTC. Not your keys. But probably best alternative.
Bisq. Desktop software so not many users.
Localcryptos has been dropping payment options. Not sure how long cash in person will last.
Localcoinswap more European I think.
Mycelium Android only, mostly scammers.
From what I gathered there is no "or Monero" you still need a crypto to buy it. Is there a way to buy it with PayPal or a CC?
other than in person, I have not found a way without going onto some 3rd party marketplace that will ask for ID verification.
Like all crypto, you're paying a $20+ fee per transaction.
Nano doesn't have any transaction fees
I paid 10 cents in transaction fee. Now I didn't try to take the money out or put it in so YMMV there, but just to transact using bitcoin you already have is not 20 dollars.
Lemme see if I understand this correctly? IF I wanted to donate to Poal in Monero, I would have to: Create a bitcoin purse: free? Buy bitcoin or some other crypto: -$20 fee Create a Monero purse: free? Convert said crypto to Monero: -$20 fee Then I could pay Poal in Monero... minus a third $20 fee?
