It's about a whole month a year. And And it's not the decorations or repetitive songs which makes the kids happy but the presents. I'd prefer to simply celebrate winter solstice without all the shenanigans.

Now see I can’t agree here. My children love the repetitive songs as children need repetition to learn things so they tend to enjoy this in their media.

That aside if your kids are only happy about the holiday due to presents, I’ve got to wonder if you are teaching them good values, time with family and good will towards men should bring much more happiness than receiving gifts.

Don’t you feel more joy from giving something back than receiving material things?

It both doesn't feel good for me when it's done because it's a social norm. It's much better to surprise someone with a gift or give someone what they need when they need it.

Well I can say for certain there are plenty of people who need things this time of year, many many of them. So why not give to them? Also who is to say you even know what you need? Why is a time of year where the social norm is giving a bad thing?

I have to disagree. Kids love the festive feeling December brings, all the nice decorations, street lights and and songs. The presents are coming at the end of it.

If you say so. I don't know many kids.

Do you have kids? Are you a religious person?

Also how would you celebrate anything without shenanigans?

Meet friends or family and celebrate, there is no need for a month of blinking lights and stuffed stores for that.

Well we don’t have any blinking lights or stuffed stores on poal.co just a festive logo. 😉
