So tonight there may be some down time as much as a few hours. I’ve got several changes I want to make(fixing emojis @AOU) and a few other things. I wanted to let everyone know I attempted to register a Twitter and it didn’t go well so I may also put up a rocketchat instance for chatting during downtime. Thanks again for being here it’s been fun so far.

Well this turned out to take a bit longer than expected. So rescheduled for tomorrow. Making progress.

So new plan. After many attempts to get emojis working in my test env without luck I’m start a new env with copy the throat source again and attempting to get emojis then apply all our changes and re import poals database. Wish me luck

Do you think Gab would be a good option? Also, is RocketChat a more trustworthy Discord/IRC type of thing? Never heard of it before now.

Rocket chat is an open source chat server. So its something I can put up and manage myself so I know no one is monitoring it.

Think Slack but open source.

I heard about Tavrn Tap (https://blog.sapphire.moe/2018/introducing-tavrn-tap/); this company is certified redpilled (banned from twitter and cloudflare).

Looks interesting. I’ll have to research it further. At the moment I’m going to stick with platforms I can enforce free speech on. Once I’m ready to basically go on an advertising campaign for poal I’ll start setting up accounts on other platforms. I still have to make poal a company owned thing.

So in the test environment the database migration worked.
