People have been asking for this, so here it is setup. Poal.co is now accepting donations in a few different ways.

SubscribeStar (subscribestar.com) for those would like to help poal.co on a monthly basis.

CashApp (cash.app) and Venmo (venmo.com) for those who prefer these new money apps.

Next Square (checkout.square.site) for those who like the convenience of just using a credit card.

I would be stupid to believe I could fund something like this on my own forever. I'd like too but I know that simply isn't really possible. You guys know why we are here and what we are standing for and against. So Poal.co can't be financially mine forever. I've taken a lot of pride in the fact that I funded getting this place started and keeping it running but I'm at a point where I just can't do it alone anymore so now you guys can take pride in it with me, if you want to.

So if you can, help out with expenses I would appreciate it. It will also enable me to get more done for poal.

I much prefer this approach to the "secret investor whose identity you don't need to know approach".

But consider this scenario if you will: let's say a user makes regular sizeable donations . Said user also behaves like a dick, abuses other users, threatens other users, etc. Would you still be willing to uphold the same standards and values by banning said user?

I mean it's unlikely because those most disagreeable here are all welfare claimants so are highly unlikely to donate but it's still worth considering such scenarios.

In the event that something like that were to happen I would act in the interest of the community and the ToS. I won't allow money to destroy this place that is why I specifically am avoiding investor capital as it comes with far too many strings. I would treat them like any other user I've gone pretty far out of my way and spent many, many hours trying to deal with bad actors peacefully instead of just dropping the ban hammer but if it has to happen it has to happen.

What are the monthly expenses here if you don't mind me asking?

Monthly expenses have gone up a bit since I started hosted things locally. I don't have an exact number at the moment but its well over 150 a month at this point if you factor in the electric bill.

What is so expensive involved in running a site? I had a rather successful site in the past. I had offshore servers for legal reasons. Hosting was $100/$150 a month while revenue was 5-15 times that. Purely ad revenue, before the whole donation trend kicked off.

Well I don't accept any ad revenue at the moment. I also host several things for poal out of my home which has been more expensive than I thought it would be. Before this I've not asked for a dime publicly there have been a few private donations that have helped but I'm at a point where I have to ask for some help. So rather than just letting things go I'm asking you guys to help me. If you can great if not that is okay.

You should also set up an ETH wallet, I would suggest. XMR is another great choice for privacy.

I'm seconding this (XMR) because privacy coins will prevent you from getting sanctioned by crypto exchanges. For instance, plenty of crypto companies block BTC payments to Stormfront. It would take a while to get the type of attention to make that happen, but it would be a wise long term plan.

Let us know what you think and if it all turned out ok. I’ve been investigating which option I want to use. Ruled out venmo and not willing to learn enough about cryptocurrency yet. Square seems to fit this square better. Especially if I can use my debit card, which I think I can.
