So we've seen this talked about this a few times since downvotes on posts became public for users over level 6. The goal of making them public for posts was to prevent brigading and it has been pretty effective. A few users didn't like it and left. I think some of those people came back under new names. So the question is, should we do the same for comments, IE add a comment details button something similar that allows users over level 6 to see who downvoted their comments. We are looking forward to what the community thinks.

Oh, I don't know, retaliatory downvoting maybe? In the name of preventing brigading you're encouraging it.

The entire point of this is to prevent that. Its about accountability.

Every site like this has had retaliatory downvoting. This lets people see for sure who is doing it.

To what purpose? This site isn't busy enough to attract shills.

Uh..... not really an argument but okay you do you.

You clearly don't know how poal works, or you wouldn't say that.

Post downvotes are visible to level6+ users since last year, and no brigading ensued besides from a few trolls who tried and failed.

And you can back this up I assume? What purpose other than retaliation would that serve? Reddit too said they were combatting brigading when they hid the scores. We all saw the outcome of that one.

And you can back this up I assume?

lol

What purpose other than retaliation would that serve?

The downvote button is not considered as a "I disagree" button.

Reddit

lol, faggot, please.

How so?

Think about it...

Oh, you downvoted me?!?! You dared defy me?!?! Well, let's just see about THAT!

Commence butthurt brigade. Any future posts from said downvoter will be subject to butthurt brigading.

You believe the community, which could also view this behavior, would accept it?

Part of the problem now is this behavior happens anyway, but nobody can see who is doing it.

Seems to me you're intentionally defending this the same way as the subversives on Voat.
