I have never seen a deer attack a bird. The only thing I can think is the rabbit "squeak" triggered a maternal defense response in the doe. This is a rare video.

Its really not too far off from the sound of a fawn in distress. Yeah the sound is different, but kinda in the same ball park. Ive called a lot of does in with fawn distress calls. Called one in just a few days ago in fact and she was freaking out on me. Ive also called in does with rabbit distress noises.
