I think the perceived popularity of Antifa, communism and left wing bullshit is an illusion created by the (((media))). Sure, there are a lot of people who will conform to whatever they think is the popular ideology, but they are not true believers. As soon as the majority of people around them voice a different opinion they will shift. The leaders overwhelmingly hate communism and socialism.
You are right. But on top of that, the threat of violence itself is very helpful.
Just look at Islam and Christianity. Christianity is significantly more widespread than Islam in the west.
However Normies rarely ever criticize Islam. And they are too cowardly to mock it.
Christianity on the other hand is fair game for both Critique and Mockery.
People are appeasing any ideology they perceive as threatening. And if they have power fantasies they'll find it more alluring to join such an ideology.
The population of people supporting Antifa on reddit disagrees. It definitely is popular, and shouldn't be.
First, reddit is a controlled platform. The CEO of reddit was literally caught personally modifying people's comments. Nothing you see there should be considered organic, or an indication of public opinion.
Second, the vast majority of redditors are sheep. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence has left for greener pastures. The second reddit admins decide to push a different agenda their sheep will echo the new narrative.
