My 1992 commodore mouse that shipped with the 3000 and 600 had an annoying hitch in it when moved in any direction. Took it apart hit it with air and cleaned with silicone q-tip and alcohol, put it back together and the annoyance was still there. Took mouse ball out and realized that it is supposed to be light grey and not brown. Scrubbed with paper towel with alcohol for a while til the paper towel was a brown/black. Works like a champ now.

Always keep your balls clean.

I can second this it is very important to keep your balls clean. Also you still use a mouse with a ball? I haven't even owned one of those for years.

Yeah, just Amiga mice. There is a laser rebuild kit for way to much money and there is a company that makes a new mouse that is compatible, but I just rock the classics.

Kinda funny, I played so much Quake with a mouseball throughout the late 90s that I play better with an old crappy mouse than my Roccat ultra dpi nice mouse.

Interesting. I can't imagine being better with a ball mouse, we should play some quake some time.

Oh my, So my friend has taken 10 years and stitched all the singleplayer levels from all four campaigns into one linear level. It is amazing, I played with 4 people on nighmare co-op a couple of years back and it was the most fun multiplayer experience I have had in years. The only thing left for him to do is add all the secret levels somehow. The thing takes 2 minutes to load on my 4.6ghz 8 core.

link to project page. (github.com) I think it only runs on darkplaces.
