And we didn't need one until the Korean War. Our first "police action".
I read in a book that the main reason why the Brits lost is because they didn't have their heart in the war because they didn't even pick the war. America stupidly went after the British thinking that they had caused a blockade or something. But in fact the blockade had ended a while earlier. Sorry it was a while since I've read the book because I don't remember why there was a blockade it might have just been America fighting against piracy. So the British orders were pretty much just go to America and teach them a lesson, don't conquer just teach them a lesson but no one in the British army knew what the lesson was supposed to be. From what I remember there was a big battle to the north over by Niagara and the Americans were repelled by the British North American troops.
