On this glorious Forth of July morning, I took time to deal with a very annoying clicking sound that was originating from my dash. This noise lasts for about 30 seconds to a minute after ignition.

The source is a bad actuator. Luckily this was easily accessed by pulling the glove box down. I disconnect and remove the actuator. What does it say on the white part sticker? Oh you probably already guessed it!

MADE IN CHINA

No wonder the cheap crap broke!

Thanks Chevy!

It is the new one but all of the recalls have been for stupid stuff like brake pedal linkage, ground cable, and such. I have the nice sound system and found out left is right with my speakers. I am afraid to try and get that fixed because they may wreck things.

When I get home I have to look up TSBs because on Tuesday I realized the only gear change I need to engage the brake for is out of park. I can go from D to R and R to D without touching the brake and I can go from R to P without the brake.

That gear from park issue sounds dangerous. Not good.
