I'll pass. I've been through Midland and Odessa. They're both WAY too close to Mexico. My high-school Spanish isn't enough to survive down there, nor do I want to have to work to improve it.
I got the same. I would never move to Texas because by the time my kids grow up it will be indistinguishable from California today, politics-wise. Don't underestimate how fast your state will turn to Central American politics once the Mexicans reach critical mass.

This is the number one reason I turned down the opportunity to move to the DFW area.
Young people don't realize what a conservative state California was all the way up until the mid 1990s. California voted more reliably conservative than Idaho or Texas in the 20th century. They don't want to believe how fast demographics can destroy a state.
