At least in the USSR you had what appeared to be manly leaders, the promotion of ideals such as the family, masculinity was encouraged, there was national pride.

No system involving millions of people will work. It was already hard to not have corruption when we were just hunters-gatherers living in small communities.

There will always be a class system. Even in the USSR there was the Nomenclatura. Kids of high members of the party were living the dream but if you were born in a cabbage kolkhoze your chances of making it to the top were not higher than if you were born in the middle of the plains of the midwest in the US in a poor family
