Sounds like a whiny little bitch.

Sounds like a whiny little bitch.

That whiny bitch wouldn't do well with discreet analog electronic components.

"I bought 100K Ohm resistors but they are only measuring 98K Ohms! reeeee!"

10.5" is within 5% tolerance for the original 11" specification. Those storage boxes deserve a gold band.

I was kind of thinking the same thing - anything made out of fibers it going to have variation in size, this guy sounds like he buys a lot of crap that he doesn't need or thinks it's 100% perfect and then cries about it while returning it when it's actually just product.

Living in a rural area, hours from big box stores, I used to use Amazon quite a bit, but they started making returns difficult in the past few years. First they would charge you to print a UPS label, they they refused to do that at any cost. The difficulty is that the closest UPS store or Whole Foods is 2 hours from me, so if I can’t print a label and flag down a UPS truck or drop at business that has UPS coming that day, then I have to go 4+ hours out of my way to return an item.

A $200 pair of boots arrived damaged, I’m not going to eat that cost for a faulty product. I ended up dropping them at a UPS store 3 weeks later and buying the new pair of boots at a brick and mortar store in the city. I’m just going to buy items in person instead of playing their games. And I haven’t used Amazon since. If I have to drive to the city to make a return, I might as well just shop in the city too.

Yeah, all good points. If I am buying something online I try to find the manufactures website (if they have one) and buy directly from them. Amazon takes a HUGE cut. I was watching a news piece about this company that makes learning toys for kids.

For a $15 item they get about $5 after all of the fees and everything. If Amazon increases fees, they have to increase prices. If they don't increase the price everywhere it is sold (walmart, ebay, etc) then Amazon decreases the product visibility to the point where you don't get any sales anymore. Its all so fucking corrupt.

They are greedy. Manufacturers can be, but most small businesses like to help the local economy and employ neighbors, so I do shop small when I can. Most of my Christmas shopping is done only at locally owned stores. Not big on franchises, but I will shop at a franchise if it’s locally owned. Unfortunately, in my area I don’t have all the stores I need for hobbies, etc. so I do have to order online. I use eBay and Etsy quite a bit, most of them are small stores and I try to limit choices to US vendors. I can’t always do that, but I make the effort.
