The cheapo ones like the rtl-sdr are fun for a while, but the shortcomings such as inaccurate tuning and low resolution become a problem. For a better experience, you need at least an Airspy HF+ discovery.

Can't disagree. But it's a nice foot in the door and the guy covers it pretty well. Along with the tuning/visualization tools.
