The 100 foot of stainless steel wire. Are you running it up (vertical) or horizontal along the ground? How are you mounting the wire? A shitty MS Paint would be fine it that is needed to explain better.
Good question. It's horizontal. Here's how the antenna runs more or less. (files.catbox.moe)
It starts at an eyebolt I sank into a tree about 15 feet above the ground and 100 feet from my house. The antenna wire ends in a very small loop, which I tied to the eyebolt with a piece of nylon string. That way I can cut the string if I want to take it down, and don't need to cut the wire or unthread the eyebolt. Then from the eyebolt, it runs through branches of two other trees, still about 15 feet off the ground, more or less in a straight line right to the 2nd floor of the deck behind my house. It runs along the back edge of the deck rail for about 10 feet, where it terminates and I have it zip tied to two of the deck spindles. I put my radio on a small outdoor table and use alligator clips to hook up the radio whip antenna to the long wire antenna.
