He's kind of full of shit, when you think about it. There is no "eternal now." There is no "now" at all. By the time your mind starts to investigate "now" it is in the past. It doesn't exist, if it ever did. And what is wrong with hoping for improvement in our lives in the future? If Buddhism says that's wrong, then fuck Buddhism. We all seek to improve our lives, and improvement can only take place in the future, with reference to the moment in time when we hope for it. We hope, we dream, we do.
