Using the same statistics I'm sure you could easily reach the conclusion that "dumb niggers have been blocking highways for two years and keep getting splattered" instead. Kudos for actually reading past the headline, realizing they failed to source the data past this professors quote (they might further down but I'm not paying them to be propagandized to) and spotting the 800 pound gorilla in the corner they are ignoring.
