Please read this for my thoughts on the subject, I touched on these issues in this post: https://poal.co/s/Christianity/302076 It says everything you need to know.

What's the 6th commandment again?

  1. Worship God and God alone.

  2. Do not make any graven image or idols. (It's okay to break this one if you are making an Idol of Jesus, or Mary, or if you are making religious art, I don't think they count).

  3. Do not take the Lord's name in vain. (you cannot use God's name as a curse, and you cannot claim to speak for God without his blessing to do so, directly quoting God is okay though, since they are his words, and not your own)

  4. Remember the Sabbath. (Do not work on a sabbath day, do not take leisure on a sabbath day, instead spend the day in prayer, worship, and reflection, keep it holy)

  5. Honor thy father and thy mother (Okay, so people are telling me that Jesus broke this one, but Jesus is perfect, so he didn't, that or it doesn't mean what those people think it means)

  6. Thou shalt not Murder. (the one you tagged me on, "murder" doesn't means the same thing as "kill", it means to "kill unlawfully", what is the relevance of this commandment here?)

  7. Thou shalt not commit adultery (if a woman takes a man married to another, or a man takes a woman married to another, or a man and woman have intercourse outside of the context of marriage, they are to both be taken before a crowd and put to death by stoning, I think it's a law we definitely need to have right now)

  8. Thou shalt not Steal (Keep in mind that simply taking from other people is not always stealing, again, just like killing, the importance is that it is unlawful, there are a lot of examples of times when it was rightful for the Hebrews to take things from other peoples, just as there were times when it was okay to kill other peoples, it all depends on if God endorses this particular case or not, if you have God's blessing to take it, you can take whatever it is that you want)

  9. Thou shat not bear false witness against your neighbor (this obviously only applies to those of the same people as yourself, as Moses himself had accused other people of occupying land that had previously belonged to his people as justification for slaughtering them, even though his people had never dwelt there before, tat was okay, because his false testimony was not against one of his neighbors, but against another tribe of people)

  10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, or ass, or house, or anything else that belongs to thy neighbor (basically, you cannot desire what another member of your people has, any of their properties, i really don't understand how to enforce this one, but God's wisdom is beyond our understanding)

Look, if anything conflicts between Jesus and the other parts, then you go with that red text of Christ, He is God, and his words are the direct word of the Lord almighty, everything else was more distantly retold and transcribed, so you can't have as much trust in it, but you can trust the words of Jesus.

What is your point here? Killing atheists is no big deal since they incurred the death penalty by breaking rule #1, thus it's not murder to kill them.

It's the only unforgivable sin aside from suicide, except in the case of Judas, who according to his book, was saved after taking his life in remorse over betraying Christ to the Roman judges, even though he only did it because Jesus asked him to since it was a requirement for mankind to be redeemed for original sin. I don't think Judas's suicide counts because of the extraordinary circumstances around it, so it makes sense not to think of it like a suicide you might commit for being from emo atheist goth nihlist.

This...

>Reward hatred with love for your enemies, if they take from you, give them more than they ask, if they strike you, open yourself up to them, do good for those who persecute you, and you lump burning coals upon their heads.

Thanks god charles martel didn't reward muslim invaders with love and openness... Thanks god he didn't do good on those who came from the barbary coast to murder and enslave europeans... He fought and slayed them all and that's precisely why europe remained christian
