Yeah, so there is a thing about working with animals. I am not going to get into it but it is often very clear when someone either hates animals or have no idea how to deal with/communicate with them. A little understanding and kindness goes a long way. I hate seeing people treat animals badly and I am "that guy" where everyone says "my cat/dog/etc" hates people, they tend to like me. I trust also trust an animals instincts on a person. If a Dog (especially if they are my dog) does not like you, there is probably a really damn good reason why. Cats are a bit more goofy but a cat that hates some people but warms up to others is sending a strong message too.
