They picked up the "spy on American citizens" role that Anthropic just dropped a couple of weeks (month?) ago.
e: AFAIK Anthropic didn't truly have that role, DOD wanted to and submitted a different contract that would have escalated the partnership into that role and Anthropic said "nope".
