Yeah, I am posting this because it is "news". I honestly don't think I give a fuck. If I made the same argument then no one would care and would just say I don't have a "right to my voice because I'm just a public citizen". This is also why I don't have a voicemail message or my voice recorded anywhere online. It was easy to clip together shit a decade ago to make it believable enough, now its 5 minutes with 30 seconds of audio and someone that wants to fuck with your life. Not. Worth. It.

From the post:

>Scarlett Johansson says she 'was shocked, angered and in disbelief' claiming that the company OpenAI took her voice without her consent for a new ChatGPT project. The Academy Award-nominated actress, 39, issued a statement via her publicist Marcel Pariseau to NPR, explaining the issue in detail on Monday. Johansson said that after she declined a deal to let the company use her voice, they went ahead and used a voice indistinguishable from her own.

AI is just another way to steal people's property. Consider only "summaries" of other people’s content. This means models are scraping content, re-writing the content and displaying it without attribution. The repercussions are content providers no longer benefit from search engines, there is no monetization and therefore, no benefit to publishing anything on the web. There's only one word to describe this: theft. And who are the world's biggest thieves?
