That grifter can't even define "intelligence". AI is just advanced autocomplete. Once you understand how it works, you realize Elon is full of shit. He is pushing for regulatory capture so he can have a monopoly.

Even "advanced autocomplete" is a whole hell of a lot "smarter" than a lot of people I have had the misfortune of dealing with in life.

Even with that being true. He was not wrong in that statement. Who knows (((what))) group of people he was talking about but the vast majority of the planet is full of people either unwilling or incapable of thinking beyond their impulses that make them "happy" in the next 5 minutes or less.

The vast majority cannot even build something extremely simple or even cook something simple provided extremely specific instructions. It is a sad time to live in.

This. AI is trained on human data. It cannot exceed humans because it cannot truly "think". It may stumble upon some novel things on occasion, but it's just a parlor trick and many companies are faking their AIs because they had to jump on the bandwagon or lose money for not having the buzzword in their products. I don't fear AI because it will prove itself to be worthless. We are getting to that point quite quickly. I give it 2 more years max before we ditch it.

Have you stopped to consider that a lot of the people that this would replace are so useless that a glorified "auto complete" can do the job?

There was a bash.org post from like 20+ years ago that was something like "stop annoying me or I will replace you with a very small shell script". I have worked with people like that, that are supposed to be smart and paid well...
