That is NOT how you do a recovery. Yanking on a tow rope is a terrible plan, likely caused damage. Use a winch, probably two ground anchors to hold the recovery vehicle and pull slowly. A bit of shoveling first would have helped as well.

Those are not tow ropes. Those are kinetic energy ropes. They're like a tow rope and a bungee cord had a baby. They're made to be pulled like that, the company is literally called Yankum Ropes (buy.yankumropes.com).

As and aside these are actually a prime example of unintended consequences. This channel and a few others showing towing and rescue are now very popular.
So people are having to be told that regular tow ropes and tow straps do not work that way and will break if you try it.
