Disjointed thoughts below....
For me, printing ABS without an enclosure has always ended in failure. Nah, I dont heat the enclosure, and I don't use glass/carbon filaments because they destroy your nozzles quick, fast, and in a hurry. I modeled my enclosure after this one (youtube.com) except instead of using the egg crate foam he used, I used insulation similar to this (homedepot.com). I heat the air in the enclosure with the bed by letting it sit for a while, and I have a thermometer at the top and bottom of the enclosure to make sure its relatively stable. I should be going to my storage unit tomorrow, I'll snap a picture then.
