From the post:

>We seldom talk about 3D printing lenses because most techniques can’t possibly produce transparent parts of optical quality. However, you can 3D print something like a lens, as [Luke Edwin] demonstrates, and get all kinds of crazy pictures out of it. [Luke’s] lens isn’t really a lens, per se. There’s no transparent optical medium being used to bend light, here. Instead, he’s printed a very fine grid in a cylindrical form factor, stuck it on a lens mount, and put that on the front of a camera.

It’s not a fucking lens, it’s a filter. These fucking retards think they invented the planet like niggers. Cokin made a huge array of filters, they mostly did a round to square attachment , and the filters were large Enough for for sure over 55mm barrel threads. I still have a pack of 3 sets. Vignette, dark horizon (top half darker), starburst (micro wire in a grid), blue, red, green filters, and ones I have forgotten, oh one was a pinhole, that caused forced perspective if used right.

I still have the mounts for 50,52 55mm (most common was the 50 for the standard 50mm that came in stock 35mm bodies)

So this shit is nothing new, it’s like a child noticing their feet. Fuckign retards.

Next they will get parchment or trace paper and put it over the lense. Or lace. Next they will print this for painting through on cars (we already did that with lace and cheese cloth).

God dammit this fucking idiot timeline needs to burn.

Makes me want to use those filters in my iPhone show these pleebtards how photography is done.

Looked on eBay “Cokin creative filter system”

https://www.ebay.com/itm/177670392073

I had forgotten about the keyhole ones, heart binocular bubble etc. Diffuser, sepia, double exposure, gradual fade, starburst, fog, closeup, linear pola, circular pola, sunset was cool, keyhole, heart, others like that, polarizer, sunlight.

Unaware kept a sunlight dinner in the lense it did nearly nothing besides reduce glare and protected the actual lense glass.

Everyone thinks they came up with something new just because the way they built it maybe was "new".

It is a common problem in the world. Yeah, this is a filter not a lens and not even close to what a lens actually is.

Wake me when this faggot is grinding and polishing glass like the fucking Germans. Leica has been around for eons for a reason, so has zeiss. I’d not trade some of my old zeiss 5-25 for anything. There is better glass in the world but this works just fine out to where I lost my gear in a boating accident.

You really can't beat Zeiss multi-coat glass. Hoya makes a good multi-coat UV filter if you need such an item.

I was going to say that. Used to have a big box of filters - star, fuzz, portrait, etc. Was cool but not really of use for what I do. I sold all of it when my old Sony Mavica CD finally died after 20 years.

Still have a polarizer and some basic stuff for the big Canon digital I bought some years ago, but really...most phone cameras are perfect for the candid shooting I do these days.

Filters? Like on tiktok?

Fucking die zoomers.

No, filters like pieces of glass that fit on the end of your lens to give the image some sort of quality or change the light coming in to the device in order to match film types or lighting styles.

Like when you see a video where all the fluorescent lamps are greenish? They have the wrong filter or film type in the camera.
