>A student-led initiative at Colorado State University has transformed campus Wi-Fi connectivity, saving up to $100,000 in costs through an innovative use of 3D printing. The product, developed within CSU’s Housing & Dining Technology Services area, addressed a critical issue affecting wireless connectivity in the residence halls. Former student networking intern Roy Holdaway first suggested the use of 3D printers when the team identified a problem with poor network connections. The team noticed wall-mounted wireless access points in campus buildings were not performing as well as the ceiling-mounted ones.
